I didn't see any previous Christmas topic, so here it is! Very Happy

I just got back from some last-minute grocery shopping (enough to last us over the next two or three days), and now I'm about to settle down with Dad to have some Christmas Eve chow.

I hope y'all have a great day tomorrow (or today in Australia)! We'll see if I can finally finish up what I'm doing in those other five windows I have opened to Illusion Vale. Sorry about the delay, ladies and gents.

Mmm...Christmas burgers. I'm off to eat now! Jolly Christmassanukaween to all, and to all a good night! Very Happy

I got...a shirt, a light jacket and a scarf. Not much. Neutral

OTOH, I got a Grand Champ George Foreman grill for Dad's Chrimbus present, and I splurged for a $10 box of six The Keg all-lean-rib-meat burger patties to "christen" the grill the next morning.

Best dadgum burgers I've ever eaten in my entire life, I kid you not. I wish I'd discovered The Keg patties years ago. Nothing made of ground chuck has ever come remotely close to the taste and quality of those Kegburgers. That was $10 very well spent. Shocked

So I guess sharing Christmas Kegburgers with Dad was worth something. Smile

Also, that George Foreman grill is an excellent little piece of technology. They aren't kidding about the grill taking fat out of the meat; the clamshell grill plates are actually set at an incline, so the fat boils out of the meat, runs down the grooves in the bottom grill plate and collects in a little drip tray at the bottom. The Kegburgers were pretty lean already, so the drip tray didn't catch all that much. But Dad might just make it to 100 if he keeps using that grill. That and he could stop smoking...again. Razz

...and seeing as I'm unable to have kids due to my utter lack of a female life partner (and am hence unable to relate to such elation), I'm just going to hand this bullet point off to the other certified parent of our motley: GoldenDrakon. Take it away, Papa Goldie! Very Happy

Also, The Olive Garden rocks. Brandish that gift card for all it's worth. Smile

THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!! I was pretty excited when my kids walked for the first time. Congrats! Of course most parents can't wait for their children to walk for the the first time and talk for the first time. I was no different but I have to say most days I spend now wishing they would sit down and shut up. LOL Laughing

As far as what I got...... GD set up this awesome treasure hunt for me. It took me 2 hour to finish and I had a lot of fun. He even got our neighbors and his sister in another state involved. They all had clues for me. Anyways, at the end I got a beautiful family ring with all our names and our birth stones. My hubby ROCKS!!!!! I also got a wok, a blanket, an ordament, $25 walmart and Amazon gift cards and some candy.

It was also great watching the kids freak out over their favorite gifts. My 2 yr daughter got a life size toy cat that she just adores and went running around screaming and giggling " A CAT!, A CAT!" for a good 15 mins. My son was just as excited about his nerf gun and guitar.

Okay happy chucks.... I know its a belated Christmas from me, but its a christmas none the less.

This christmas was really weird. Cos, basically, it snuck up on me. I was working so much... and we were having christmas parties left right and centre (god I wish to never see another damn cranberry stuffed apricot again) that it just... snuck up.

Wow... sidenote: I haven't been on here so long that my typing has gone to SH*TE. You obviously can't see it, but my fingers have to skittle over the "backspace" button that much its damn annoying.

ANYWHOO.....

So, I took piccies!

Well, piccies of my christmas dinner. What happened was that I had to work on christmas day. We close up shop and do a giant christmas function on Xmas. This year we were fully booked - about 170 people. That's including children Smile then i had to get home and get my own xmas dinner ready. About a day before i was told that mum and dad were joining us.... so that left me slightly panicky. Then i calmed down somewhat because I realised that I usually make enough food to feed an army.... so yeah Smile

So I got up at 6am - got to work at 8am... finished work at 4pm and got home around 4:30 and we had dinner around 7pm. There was no usual gifting around the tree Sad but it was all good. I got my pressies before - (i bought them myself)

Here's my piccies Smile

(and yes, the turkey looks burnt, but trust me, its my shitty camera phone messing it up. It was all golden and nice, like a really good roast chook. Smile )

Plus I made a slightly screwed up Cookies and Cream Icecream to go with the bomb choc pudding I bought and some nice custard I made for desert.

We had heaps of munchies too!

As for my pressies: well, I'm not sure how to mark my 'presents'. Mostly I just went out and bought stuff for myself.

I got a giant teddy bear. He goes from my head to my knees. I'm about 5 foot tall Smile I also got a little chocolate coloured reindeer that's just the right size to cuddle. He has antlers and everything. (but he's really a chocolate moose in disguise, he told me so!) so i called him my Choko Roko Smile

Ummm... I got myself a new DS game - some books (Blood Ninja and Heart Sick). Shadow wrote me a poem (which is great cos he hasn't done that in years!) I got a cash bonus from work too. I got myself a little 1.5 litre ice cream maker. Its not that great... but hey, it only cost me $25 Smile

Ermm.... mum and dad gave me some money too Smile it was sweet. I honestly can't remember anything else.

I got shadow some games he had wanted - OH!- yeah, that's what else I got. Shadow bought me a cd Smile An eighties compilation I had wanted for a while cos all of my metal and rock is making me fall asleep in the car on my way home from work everyday Sad.

Right, i think that's it Smile

What are everyone's New Years plans?

Oh and I got sick Sad

I got the Mrs a pair of Ugg's. They seem to be doing pretty well as she is on her feet all day filling Rx's. And the kids got her a $15 GC to Itunes.

The girls got spoiled as usual. They both now have a DSI xl, so no more fighting over a game system!

I got a new pair of slippers! Putting them on makes me ready for bed. Then I got the "out of the park" gift. Call of Duty for the Wii! And a Zelda type Crossbow Target Shooting game!

My New Years plans all depend on the weather. We have 2 nasty storms coming in. The first is due in tonight with a forecast of up to 12" of snow with 30+ MPH sustained winds, followed by the second storm that is calling for another 4" and -20 degree windchills! For the first time in 9 years, the Mrs and I finally have a New Years that we can do something and Old Man Winter comes calling!

I think that Wraith's onboard censor quit about halfway through that post. Razz

I forgot to mention that I got three boxes of chocolates, too: one from my workplace (one of those lame White Elephant gift exchanges...), one from my Aunt Alma and the third one...just showed up. I have no idea where it came from. Shocked

I guess it was Santa Claus. Or a ninja. Razz

Maybe it was a Ninja Santa Claus Smile

It could happen.

Anyways, Shadow and I spent the New Year ( i had the day off!!!) down at the beach and the local 'spot'. It was full of rides and great local entertainment. Except for the local dance schools.

Shadow and i watched in wonder and amazement as girls in below the jailbait level swung around in costumes that were bare strips of glittering material and tried to shake non-existant 'bootys' (like they even know how to use the things) like britney or heaven forbid, beyonce.

*shudder* It gave us nightmares.

But the local band's were cool Smile

We also watched the fireworks - and then got caught in traffic for, like, two hours afterwards Smile it was fun!

And no... I have no profanity filter actually running on this thing. At least, I don't think I turned it on. Any filtering in my posts have been done manually. The only profanity filter I have actually running in the background in on the Usernames. They have specific words and or phrases prohibited - for obvious reasons.

Hope I didn't cause offence. Sorry Sad

Hehe.... should have read my own rules for the site... lol. Sorry guys.

Oh, I was just poking fun at you and you know it. Razz

So did you take photos? And when is Shadow coming back to these forums, now that you mention him and his party-happy butt? Very Happy
