| While I was clipping and scaling and pasting together a few pics for the current Hangman! puzzle (for when it gets solved or defeats the players, of course), I came across this majestic picture of our solar system, illustrated to scale: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Systemesolaire2.jpgBe advised that it's really friggin' huge. Yes, the pic too. Of course, the subject of the puzzle's solution makes me feel small and insignificant too. But the solar system's still bigger...at least in terms of diameter, if not in mass. Poor little Pluto and Charon, drifting around so forlornly and so far away.... I think I'm going to hunt down a flea and crush it dead so I can feel big and significant again. So what crazy stuff in the universe fits your definition of "awesome," anyway? | |

| The power of a Blck Hole. The planets are huge, the stars are even bigger and when it comes to size, mass, etc., I think the Black Hole is the "Mother" of Universal power! | |

| Aye. Black holes are something else too. It says something about a black hole that they're invisible (since they suck in light and don't emit any), and the only way that astronomers can detect a black hole is by observing the rays of light from other celestial bodies warping around it. The black hole's density and gravitational pull are so horrifically powerful that they bend rays of light going anywhere near the black hole. We need our astronomers to find a way to make our Sun burn, like, forever, or else we'll be looking at jolly old Sol going supernova and collapsing into a black hole in about 9.5 billion years or so. Granted, everyone here will probably be 9.5-billion-year-old dust by then, but the thought of that happening still pretty well sucks. Hop to it, eggheads. | |

| The solar system pic, you mean? Yes, it is. The artist has a Deviant Art profile, too! Here it is. Pop in and let him know what you think of his work! | |
