I'd like to start up a discussion about your favourite books/genres and authors.

I don't really have a favourite book/series but I am currently mad about the Sword of Truth saga at the moment written by Terry Goodkind.

From what I can gather this is his debut series, though I'm pretty sure he's written some other stuff, but they've been relatively small time.

The Sword of Truth happens to be in one of my favourite genres and that is Epic Fantasy. He tells a story of magic, love and the right to live as you are.

It is the story of a man called Richard Cypher. He grew up as a woods guide in a land completely bereft of magic. One day, from the Boundary - the border of his lands from any others - comes a mysterious woman named Kahlan. He soon finds out that she is from a world of Magic beyond the Boundary and has come on a life threatening journey to find the one person that can save her lands from a tyrannical magical ruler named Darken Rahl.

Soon he realises that this person is himself. He becomes what she calls the Seeker of Truth, a man that is a law unto himself. Now Richard has to brave the perils of a new land, survive Darken Rahl's assassins and learn to control the well of Power that comes with wielding the Sword of Truth. For the man who thought magic didn't exist is now on the his way to becoming the greatest wizard the known world has ever seen.

As I said, this is a fantastic series and I would recommend any person to read this great work.

I haven't read those ones but I am a book *fanatic* i also read to fast so it is an expensive hobby for me Smile

lets see, I buy

J.D Robb (futuristic crime slightl romance but hilariously funny at points) awesome.

J R Ward. New twist on the vampire take. awesome books bordering on erotica and please mummy can I have one of the Brotherhood warriors for christmas? www.jrward.com

Sherrilyn Kenyon: Dark hunter series. Series about all the different god pantheons from history and dark hunters, kind of vampires, have fangs super strength etc each one has special ability, dont drink blood however and they hunt daemons which do drink blood but only to absorb the soulds of humans so they can remain alive...wont go into it to much as history is long and complex as anything involving gods is but again AWESOME.

Anne bishop: one of my favourite fantasy authors. she is absolutely fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend the blood trilogy it is one of the best series's? ive ever read

Traci harding: other favourite fantasy author, she is australian and her fantasy is based more in esoteric lore.

Keri Arthur: vamps, werewolves all the usual but well written and based in reality as they run the government/disciplinary body for supernatural beings in coop with normals government.

kelley armstrong : supernaturals ie vamps, werewolves and demons etc etc

i already own some david eddings but have read all of his books, i own all the harry potters and adore them have read and used to own all the richard laymons....lovely gore horror work.

im going to stop babbling now. suffice to say i read alot Smile

Saaaweeet!! I just love book lovers.

I'm reading a David Gemmell book at the moment (Hero in the Shadows) and so far its going well. He reminds me of Raymond E Feist. Whom I love.

I also love Jean M Auel and her Earth's Children series. Abso-tute-ly fantastic!

Here's a wiki link to her, I don't know if she's got a website, but I shall look.

Hmm... I was thinking, should I try to find websites for popular authors on here and post them in the Scribe's Hall?

Yeah. It is now going to be a quadrilogy. Apparently there was just far too much stuff to put into the last book so he is going to break it up into two.

I've just started reading Trudi Canavan's newest books - The Age of Five series - and I must say, she hasn't disappointed me so far. I've already read her Magicians series and that just rocked my socks off! So... she hasn't lost her touch.

Here's some info on her and I'll post up her actual website later. Hopefully when I've got some time to put up the Author's Websites in the Scribe's Hall.

Right! I've just finished reading Eric Van Lustbader's Pearl Saga.

FANTASTIC.

An oldie but definitely a goodie. Fans of his work should check them it out.
