Beginnings - first mission brief

A new mission (our first) will soon be available. This thread is essentially the OOC for Beginnings (the name of the IC thread)

Firstly, I would like to get a list of interested people. Rememer, you are using your up to date Universes character. That is all skills and experiences you've gained thus far in your Gateways thread will and can be used in this mission.

You can still gather skills (I will be introducing "Personal Skills" very soon) while doing this mission.

You don't have to have a completed Gateways thread to participate in this mission, however, it would be wise to get your thread along as much as possible so that you don't have to worry about Timelining.

The rough skirts of this mission are as follows.

Wraith has found a small portal in the depths of the mountains in which she found GoldenDrakon. She has asked that a small party of people get together and follow her into the portal to see what's on the other side. She has no idea what's going on, but something is pulling at her Soul. Like the Vale is trying to tell her something. The answers that they seek, the way home, may lay beyond this gate. Who will answer the call?


Please understand that should you wish to participate, it would be best to do so now. You may have to wait until the next mission if you miss out. As we are all going into the portal, any other players will have difficulty following our party. So... if you don't want to miss out on this (very important) mission, then it would be best if you stated your interest here.

I won't be putting up the IC thread until I have a few more details worked out and I have a sizeable list of people. There is no limit to players, however, interested people MUST have started a Gateways thread before joining this mission.

Okay... Blackwulf's decided to sign up and I know that Eidys will be participating.

Akaron Corvus shall lend his sword.

I will most definitely participate in this vital mission.

I suppose these silly little two legged, earthbound folk will be needing transportation....

I have officially started the Missions thread, titled "Beginnings".

For the moment, however, the topic is locked and so others cannot post besides me. This is because I have a few more posts I want to put up before I open the thread completely.

The Aegirans can be described thusly:

Aegirans are sleek, strong humanoids born with powerful, angel-like wings. They have sharp features and long, almost elegantly pointed ears. Natural wing colors rang from snow-white to dark gray and their skin varies in shades of tanned. Hair colors vary from fiery red, deep blue-black, ebony, sky blue, steel gray, sea green, copper brown and snow white. Eye colors tend to be wine red, sea green, deep blue, violent, gold, copper, slate grey, and sky blue.

Skirls are described lightly as:

Skirls are vicious, hyena-looking creatures that walk upright on two legs. They have sharp, canine-like teeth, claws and fur that ranges from black to dark brown and light brown with black or brown spots and two long strips down the back.

The Aegirans were created like humans except they had wings. They are in no form or way 'Angels'. They are neither celestial or divine. Simply a race that was created (credits go to Eidys) for me to play with

I will not god mod and if anybody catches me, just tell me and I'll change it. It was a mistake, I swear! LOL

Hey, enquiring minds wanna know!

LOL, the Aegirans are as diverse as the human race. They all have tanned skin (almost golden in colour at times) generally taller than the average human... but there are all body types. Men are mostly at least a little muscled (not for aesthetics!) but simply because they have to work hard at their respective skills and simply to live.

Warrior classes are even more so.

Women are stronger than average humans but not as strong as the Skirls. All body types are revered and nothing is ever out of place. The only time an Aegiran isn't liked is when they don't pull their weight...

(they've gone through some hardships so they all have to stick together)

I won't reveal just yet how many Aegirans there are.

New question:

Can Skirls talk in a language that we could understand?

For ease of RPing... yes. Both the Aegirans and the Skirls speak the same language. The Skirls to varying degrees of success. They are still animalistic though, so they do have their own unique 'communication' system.

The language that you all speak in the Vale isn't English persay. If you spoke it here... well... nobody would understand you. But you are brough with a unique understanding of how to speak in the Vale. This is the language of the Aegirans.

So if GD chooses not to just eat the remaining skirl on his mountain, would you like to run him as an NPC?

Well, GD IS your character... so I really don't see why I would run him as an NPC. But if you're going away or something and want me to continue him... then I suppose I can.

If anybody is having trouble with how to fit their characters into the current story line, just PM me and I can make something happen for you.

Also, just to give people a heads up, Eidys is currently running along her own (albeit parallel) storyline. So when she posts (I'll be playing subsequent NPC's as well) don't worry too much. She'll be joining you in no time.

I was referring to the Skirl, but we already discussed that

In that case, yes, I will be playing any and all NPCs. Including that little nasty bugger waiting for everybody in the mountains.

Just a note:

Now would probably be a good time to join Myst and Reht on their journey.

In case people are wondering... I'm waiting until some more people post before making another Myst/Reht post. Just to balance things out a little more.

Ok... so I'm not done with my gateway posting yet.... so should I just wait for the next mission?
